Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the endoscopic surgical results for treatment of simple goiter at Military Hospital 105. Subjects and methods: 53 patients undergoing endoscopic surgery to treat simple goiter at Military Hospital 105 from August 2014 to December 2018. Results: 6 male patients (11.3%) and 47 female patients (88.7%).

There were 3 cases of almost complete cut the thyroid gland to one side. The time of endoscopic surgery to completely cut the thyroid lobe: 79.29 ± 23.01 minutes (50-150 minutes). Time of endoscopic surgery to completely cut the thyroid gland: 129.72 ± 46.98 minutes (60-300 minutes). Blood loss of 1 lobe of the thyroid lobe endoscopy: 11.14 ± 8.82 ml (2-40 ml).Blood loss of endoscopic surgery to completely cut the thyroid gland 26.39 ± 10.82 ml (5-45 ml). Time of draining drainage: mainly from 24 to 48 hours with 52/53 cases accounting for 98.11%. Postoperative hospital stay: 5.01 ± 1.59 days (3-11 days). There was 1 case (1.89%) open surgery, 3 cases of fluid accumulation (5.66%), 1 case of temporary hoarse speech (1.89%). 92.5% achieved good and good results. There are 3 cases relapse (5.66%) and 91.67% satisfied with the surgical results.

Conclusion: endoscopic surgery for simply goiter is a safe, feasible technique with high aesthetic results.
