Abstract

Portal vein thrombosis after hepatectomy is a rare complication, risk factors include: major hepatectomy, portal vein stenosis after surgery... Diagnosis of portal vein thrombosis is based on clinical symptoms and contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography. Postoperative portal vein thrombosis can be prevented in high-risk patients with anticoagulation. When there are complications of portal vein thrombosis, treatment with anticoagulants or thrombectomy is required. We report a case of portal vein thrombosis after right hepatectomy accompanied by gastrointestinal bleeding.
