Abstract

Dieulafoy’s lesion is a relatively rare cause of acute gastrointestinal bleeding, the frequency is approximately 1-2%. The size of the lesion is quite small but causes acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage with severe, massive, without prior symptoms. Despite recent advances in endoscopy, the diagnosis and treatment of Dieulafoy’s lesion is still a significant challenge. We report a case of successful endoscopic hemostasis by dual endoscopic therapy using injection of diluted epinephrine plus hemoclip application in a patient with severe upper gastrointestinal bleeding due to Dieulafoy’s lesion in the stomach with medical history of alcoholic cirrhosis.
