Abstract

Purposes: Evaluating the ALBI index and its correlation with several factors in patients with HCC.

Subjects: 67 HCC patients treated at the Gastroenterology Department - Military Hospital 175 from January 2023 to January 2024.

Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study.

Results: The ALBI score has a median of -2,25, a minimum of -3,09, and a maximum of -0,34.; ALBI score distribution: ALBI-1 20,90%; ALBI-2 59,70%; ALBI-3 19,40%. There was a relationship between the ALBI score and cirrhosis (p = 0,002), liver function according to Child-Pugh classification (p = 0,001), and stage of HCC according to BCLC classification (p = 0,001). However, the ALBI score did not have a statistically significant relationship with tumor number (p = 0,337) and tumor size (p = 0,227). Conclusions: The ALBI score is closely related to liver function according to the Child-Pugh classification and stage according to BCLC in HCC patients. The ALBI score can be used for prognosis in HCC patients in lower-level hospitals.
