Abstract

Objectives: To investigate the side-effects and the recurrence rate in stage IB endometrial cancer patients treated with postoperative brachytherapy.

Methods: 17 patients with stage IB endometrial cancer were retrospectively enrolled between January 2016 and December 2018. Vaginal brachytherapy was delivered with 3 insertions and fraction dose of 7 Gy after radical hysterectomy.

Results: The median follow-up was 30 months. Only 1 patient (5, 88%) developed lung metastasis. No locoregional recurrence and gastrointestinal, genitourinary toxicities were reported.

Conclusion: Adjuvant brachytherapy for endometrial cancer had a safe and effective pattern.
