Abstract

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is characterized by transient regional systolic dys[1]function of the left ventricle mimicking acute myocardial infarction but with only mini[1]mal release of cardiac enzymes. There is a paucity of angiographic evidence of obstruc[1]tive coronary artery disease or acute plaque rupture. The incidence makes up for 1 to 2% of patients suspected of having acute coronary syndrome.

We report a clinical case who was treated at Cardiovascular interventional de[1]partment of Military hospital 175. The patient was female, 68 years old, and admitted because of chest pain on the fist day, electrocardiography changed with biphasic T wave in V2–V4, cardiac enzymes were mild increased. This patient was diagnosed with Wellen syndrome type A and managed to the acute coronary syndrome regimen. The results of angiography showed atherosclerosis caused 30% stenosis of the RCA1 segment, echo[1]cardiography detected apical aneurysm. These features can be concluded as Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
