Receiving, Reviewing and Approving processes

The peer review process is divided into 3 stages:

Stage 1 - Preliminary: The editorial board reviews the article.

After the author submits the article, the Editorial Board will email a response to the author stating that the article has been received. These articles will be put into the preliminary stage and moderated by the Editorial Board & Editorial Secretary:

  • If the article meets the standards, the Editorial Office will email the author a notification of acceptance into the peer review process.
  • The article does not meet the standards, there are 2 cases:
    1. Bài báo có thể chỉnh sửa và xem xét lại, Tòa soạn sẽ gửi trả lại cho phép tác giả chỉnh sửa để đáp ứng quy chuẩn đã quy định;
    2. Bài báo không thể chỉnh sửa thêm/Bài báo dù thỏa mãn nhưng có sai lầm cơ bản về mặt học thuật hay nội dung đi ngược với tôn chỉ, mục đích, phạm vi hoạt động của Tạp chí, Tòa soạn sẽ gửi thông báo không được chấp nhận đưa vào quy trình phản biện.
  • Processing Time:
    • Time for the Editorial Office to respond to the author of the received article: 1-3 days, from the time the author sends the email.
    • Time for the Editor to respond to preliminary information: 1-5 days, from the date the Editor announces receipt of the article from the author.

Stage 2 - Peer review

Expert review

After passing Stage 1 - Preliminary, the article will be coded and sent to the reviewers: Reviewer 1 or/and Reviewer 2. The reviewers will work seriously to give comments on the article. Based on many specific criteria to evaluate articles. The overall review content focuses on the following 5 main contents:

  1. Evaluate the form and structure of scientific articles
  2. Evaluation of the suitability of the theoretical basis used in the research
  3. Evaluation of research methods
  4. Evaluate the reliability of research data
  5. Evaluation of the scientific and practical significance of the article

The conclusion of the review phase could be:

  1. Good quality article. Can be posted, no editing required
  2. The article needs to be edited for review and review again before making a decision to publish/not publish.
  3. The article does not meet the quality requirements for publication in the Journal of 175 Practical Medicine and Pharmacy. Do not publish.

Time for reviewers to read and return comments:
From 1 to 7 days, counted from the date the Editorial Office sends each reviewer. (In some special cases, the Editorial Office may request reviewers to read and give urgent comments).

Author: Revised the manuscript

Once the author receives critical comments, he/she quickly revised and sends them back to the Editorial Office for review until the Reviewer reaches the conclusion: Accept for publication/Decline for publication.

Due date:

  • The due date for the author to revised and resubmit the manuscript: From 1 to 14 days, counting from the date the Editor sends the Editor Decision with comments to the author (In some special cases, the Editor may request the author to edit and resubmit urgent).
  • The due date to complete the review phase: From 4 to 6 weeks, from the time the Editorial Office announces acceptance of articles into the review process.

Stage 3 - Approval for publication

Editor in Chief/Editor will choose the Accepted for publication/Decline for publication for 2 cases:

  1. The manuscript is recommendation by reviewers as Accepted for publication.
    • If the Editor in Chief/Editor approves publication, the Editorial Office will send the author a notice of approval to put the article on the waiting list for publication.
    • If the Editor in Chief/Editor requests review and requests to send additional reviewers for verification, the Editorial Office will transfer the article back to the Reviewing Stage for further processing.
  2. The manuscript is recommendation by reviewers as Decline for publication.
    • If the Editor in Chief/Editor approves and does not publish the article, the Editorial Board will send the author a notice of disapproval of publishing the article in the Journal of 175 Practical Medicine and Pharmacy.
    • If the Editor in Chief/Editor requests review and requests to send additional reviewers for verification, the Editorial Office will transfer the article back to the Reviewing Stage for further processing.

Time for the first decision: The Editorial Office notifies the author of the publication approval results: From 1 week, from the time the Editorial Office announces the completion of the review process.
